A developer has found a hidden feature inside the iOS, by hacking it; he discovered a one-handed iPhone keyboard. This feature is designed to resolve the issue of accessibility, a problem commonly encountered on larger-screened phones. The keyboard is activated by either left-swiping or right-swiping from the edges of the standard iOS keyboard.

This feature has been there since the time of iOS 8! This unreleased feature can only be uncovered by hacking the iOS Simulator – Apple’s software that allows you to simulate the iOS operating system on your Mac for development purposes.

Developer Steve Troughton-Smith discovered the hidden one-handed mode inside the code of iOS. This hidden mode allows the user to type on the iPhone keyboard with one hand, with a new layout for the keys. Users can also customize the keys either towards left or right orientation.

As you can see in the video, there are options of cut, copy, and paste at the side of the keyboard as well. Steve has provided instructions on enabling the one-handed keyboard mode. The problem is that this procedure will only work if you jailbreak your device.

Isn’t that amazing guys, seems like Apple has been hiding this feature from all of us for all these years.
