There is no denying the fact that telecom operators make a number of promises when we start using their services or take a new plan; however, many of their commitments turn to ashes when it’s the time to use their plans. This is highly applicable on Internet data packs which often don’t seem to be that impressive as they are assured to have been. For instance, service operators usually give word of providing 3G speed but sadly, it’s 2G for significant time and we end up feeling cheated.
Not only common man experiences it but sometimes celebrities also get frustrated with the inferior service of telecom operators. The famous journalist Barkha Dutt made a complaint to telecom operator Vodafone through Twitter regarding her internet data but she didn’t get a satisfying answer.
What worked as salt to her wounds was that the calling helpline of Vodafone was not working well too. However, the attention grabber was the government telecom operator BSNL as it tweeted to Barkha Dutt, asking the journalist to change her operator and give BSNL a chance to serve.
First of all, take a look at Barkha’s complaining tweet:
Hello @VodafoneIN you have taken away my data for the last seven hours and have useless, unresponsive helpline. What going on with you guys
— barkha dutt (@BDUTT) June 11, 2016
Vodafone was quick to reply on the journo’s tweet:
@BDUTT That must be really upsetting. We will check and revert with an update. – Arun
— Vodafone India (@VodafoneIN) June 11, 2016
An angry Barkha asked:
@VodafoneIN thanks, but repeated calls to helpline got zilch. Data taken away for hours now. How and why?
— barkha dutt (@BDUTT) June 11, 2016
And the same ghisa-pita reply from the telecom service:
@BDUTT We are working on your concern and will get back to you with an update. – Arun
— Vodafone India (@VodafoneIN) June 11, 2016
It was getting intolerable for the journalist:
@VodafoneIN whats the answer. Its the next morning. your helpline is rubbish and doesnt work
— barkha dutt (@BDUTT) June 12, 2016
And again a worthless reply from Vodafone:
@BDUTT Apologies, our team will get in touch with you shortly. Your patience is much appreciated. – Amit
— Vodafone India (@VodafoneIN) June 12, 2016
She was even more furious this time:
@VodafoneIN its been 12 hours since an Arun tweeted me same message. You have sent me a text sayimg service withdrawn, WHY
— barkha dutt (@BDUTT) June 12, 2016
And look, which company tried to avail itself of Vodafone’s adverse situation, BSNL!
Dear @BDUTT do take a look at our plans & wide network. If you could DM your details we could connect & share the same. @VodafoneIN
— BSNL India (@BSNLCorporate) June 12, 2016
And Barkha even seemed to be convinced:
@BSNLCorporate @VodafoneIN – will do BSNL, time to change phone service
— barkha dutt (@BDUTT) June 12, 2016
A user intervened:
@BDUTT @BSNLCorporate @VodafoneIN haha. Govt agencies have gone up fast on creating new consumer base. You have got a famous journo now
— Omerta (@loud_engineer) June 12, 2016
While another Twitterati tried to warn Barkha of not being trapped in the net of BSNL’s fake promises:
@BDUTT @BSNLCorporate @VodafoneIN don't even think of doing it. आसमान से गिरे खजूर में अटके वाला केस हो जायेगा। Try airtel, idea instead.
— Abhishek Tiwari (@abhi_tds) June 12, 2016
Meanwhile, other users who faced problems also shared their experience:
@BDUTT @VodafoneIN agree my data also got taken away in last 7days
— Vikas Shah (@vikasshah82) June 12, 2016
@BDUTT @airtelindia @Airtel_Presence @TRAI Talked many time to customer care even being long waiting but no help. pic.twitter.com/zbL1VyJPTW
