31st December, 2016 was a “night of humiliation” for all the ladies in Bengaluru, who were molested by the drunk and unruly mob on the busy streets of the city. A CCTV footage is also doing rounds in which two men on motorbike can be seen groping a lady and all this has happened when the administration deployed 1500 security personnel to keep law and order in place on the New Year Eve.

The politicians once again started blaming the ladies and their dressing sense for these types of events. Samajwadi leader Abu Azmi said to ANI,

“In this modern age, the lesser clothes a woman is wearing, more modern she is considered. If my sister or daughter is roaming around on December 31 with random men who aren’t their husband or brother, I don’t think that’s right.”

However, a little bit of good news is that not all hooligans got away unpunished. Chaitali Wasnik (24), a photographer, was returning to her home around 1:30 AM when a molester came up to her and started groping her.

The guy had the courage to molest Chaitali even when the policemen were around because he thought that she would remain silent and let him do whatever he wanted. But all his assumptions proved to be wrong when Chaitali thrashed him to such an extent that other people had to intervene in order to save the molester.

Chaitali posted the whole incident on her Facebook wall and her post went viral for obvious reasons. She wrote,

“On this f***ing new year some random guy tried to grope me while I was returning home from work and with so much ease he did as if he thought I’ll not utter a word because I’m a f***ing scared woman and he has a reason because he’s drunk and let him escape.”

Here’s Her Facebook Post:

She told The Huffington Post about the policemen and their rude behavior,

“I usually work late hours, and when I leave from work, I rarely find cops on the road. They are rude and they misbehave. They don’t pay attention when an outsider go and complain.”

Don’t you think that the state government should focus more on protecting people and women should also make themselves capable of protecting themselves? What do you say?
