Shah Rukh starrer “Raees” has already entered the 100 crore club and it is the first film of the year 2017 to do so. The movie got released on 25th Jan and it earned Rs. 100 crores in just one week despite the fact that it clashed with a big banner movie, “Kaabil” which stars Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam in the lead roles.
Shah Rukh didn’t leave any chance to promote his flick but the leading lady, Mahira Khan, was not able to promote “Raees” as she is from Pakistan and the present relations between the two nations are not so cordial.
As the movie is performing well on the box-office, a press conference was called by the makers on its success and the leading lady was also available for having an interaction with the media, through video conferencing. The press conference was also attended by SRK, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, director Rahul Dholakia and producer Ritesh Sidhwani.
When Mahira was asked to give her comments on “Raees” making into the 100 crore club, she said,
“It is amazing to be a part of the 200 crore club. I don’t understand numbers because sure we have numbers but not so big numbers. In my head I wanted the film to do 100 crores on the first day, and Ritesh had to explain it to me that it doesn’t work like that.”
As King Khan is known for spontaneity and wittiness, he added,
“You know what Ritesh told Mahira, he told her ‘No Mahira the film stars Shah Rukh and not Salman (Khan) or Aamir (Khan)’.”
