Where there’s a will, there’s a way!

If hard work and determination go together, a person can achieve even those things which seem impossible, and this statement holds completely true for Kalpit Veerwal.

17-yr Kalpit is all over the headlines today after the results of ‘JEE Mains’ 2017 are announced, as he has not only topped the examination but also attained the perfect score of 360 and created history. Kalpit was also not sure about scoring the perfect score as he said,

“I always had a feeling that I would get a high score but never expected to get all India rank 1.”

Kalpit is not from a very affluent family as his father, Pushkar Lal Veerwal, is a compounder in a Government hospital of Udaipur and his mother, Pushpa Veerwal, works as a Hindi teacher in a government school.

The news was broken to Kalpit by the chairman of CBSE board, RK Chaturvedi, as he made a call to Kalpit personally. He is the topper in both the categories – General and Schedule Caste.

Kalpit talked about his interest in Science from early age,

“I always had a keen interest in Science and always wanted to excel a career in engineering field. To achieve my goals in life, I started taking coaching since Class 8 from a renowned coaching centre in the state.”

He also gave a piece of advice to aspiring students,

“I studied 6-7 hours a day and took a break for some extracurricular activities like cricket and badminton to refresh my mind. I would advise all the aspirants to do regular studies and should not take studies as burdens rather take it as a challenge.”

Kalpit will prepare for JEE Advanced now and we wish him lots of luck!
