After the huge success of Baahubali series, Prabhas has become one of the most desirable and loved actors of the Indian cinema and it would be a matter of great fortune for any actress to work with him. It’s not a hidden fact that the makers of “Saaho” had been looking for the female lead to star opposite Prabhas.
They wished to cast some Bollywood star who is gorgeous, emotive and can appeal to the whole country and for the same purpose, they approached two of the most beautiful actresses of B-Town, Disha Patani and Shraddha Kapoor. There is not the least doubt about the fact that Disha has not yet set her foot firmly in Bollywood while Shraddha’s last two movies entitled “OK Jaanu” and “Rock On 2” couldn’t do well on the box office. Taking this into consideration, they really need to pay attention to a good script which can give their not-so-good filmy career a much-required boost rather than thinking about payment. However, they both don’t seem to have that tactic in their minds and that’s why, they lost the big opportunity to be starred opposite Prabhas in his next.
Here’s what an insider revealed,
“Shraddha was our first choice. She heard us out and was almost jumping with excitement during the narration. Then, she quoted a price that had the team running out of her residence as fast as possible. She wanted Rs 8 crore. We were shocked. We don’t pay that kind of money to actors in Telugu cinema. But she wouldn’t budge. She was like, ‘I love the script and I’d love to work with Prabhas. But the price remains unchanged.’ We fled.”
Then they considered Disha and surprisingly, she didn’t seem to be interested at all. According to the source,
“She started her career in Telugu cinema. So we thought she would be keenly interested in the project, as it stars Prabhas. Disha wouldn’t meet us. When she finally did, she said she’d let us know. Later, her team members informed us that she liked the script, but would want Rs 5 crore as her fee. We want to know which Bollywood producer pays Disha that kind of money?”
Later, they contacted Kriti Sanon and few other B-Town actresses “But nothing worked out. We are now done with Bollywood actresses. With Prabhas in the project we don’t need them. We will cast a Telugu actress.”
“Saaho” would definitely do good, no matter which actress is starred against Prabhas but one thing is for sure, if Disha and Shraddha don’t change their attitude, it might be difficult for them to survive in the industry for long! What do you say?
