The humanity died a shameful death as 30 children in Gorakhpur’s BRD hospital lost their lives due to the lack of supply of oxygen. However, the government is saying that the deaths have taken place due to the illness and not because of the oxygen supply. The oxygen cylinder supplier stopped supplying cylinders because the government-run hospital wasn’t paying dues amounting to Rs. 70 lakh despite the repeated reminders. Social media is flooded with messages which are criticizing the hospital and government for being so insensitive towards the issue.

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag who is known for posting some really kickass tweets also tweeted on the matter but he didn’t talk about the recent incident directly and wrote about 50,000 deaths that have taken place due to encephalitis since it has been reported in 1978.

Sehwag tweeted, “Deeply pained by the loss of innocent lives in #Gorakhpur. More than 50000 children have lost their lives here since encephalitis was first reported in 1978, the year I was born. We Still haven’t figured a way to save innocent lives from a known disease. Heartbreaking!”

This disease has been killing kids for a long time now but Twitterati got angry with Sehwag for not openly criticizing the present government and the hospital and termed his expression of feelings as fake.

Sehwag got brutally slammed by Twitterati and here are few selected tweets:

Ashamed to be your fan:

How insensitive!

Don’t be afraid of speaking the truth:

BJP’s CHAMCHA:

You hypocrite!

Are you BJP’s spokesperson?

Playing for BJP now?

Shame on you!

Don’t pretend to be blind to show your support:

Stop licking:

Well-said!

Epic insult:

For God’s Sake:

It didn’t help you in becoming the coach even:

A jibe at govt:

What do you have to say about Sehwag’s tweet?
