Few days back, police arrested Honeypreet Insan. She was missing since her father Ram Rahim’s arrest but finally, she surrendered herself to Haryana police.
Police had been questioning her about the Panchkula riots that took place during Ram Rahim’s arrest, but she had denied her role in the same.
Finally, Honeypreet has confessed the crime and said that she was responsible for inciting riots on 25th of August, in which 40 people were killed. Investigators revealed that Honeypreet was the mastermind behind these riots and that she had sanctioned a budget of Rs 1.25 crores for all this. Blueprints were made in a meeting that was held on the 17th of August in Sirsa.
Yes, during her investigation session with SIT, Honeypreet confessed that she had incited violence in Panchkula. She also said how she had designed guide maps of the area and planned everything. They even feel that her laptop might have crucial information about the Dera and its finances.
This seems to be a contrast statement; when Honeypreet was arrested on 3rd October on the charges of rioting and sedition, she had completely denied of doing so. Even in media interview, she said she’s not aware of anything and had not planned or funded these riots.
