It’s Diwali time for Indians and the Canadian PM Justin Trudeau took the opportunity to offer his best wishes to all the Indians across the globe.
He chose the micro-blogging site for this and tweeted, “Diwali Mubarak! We’re celebrating in Ottawa tonight. #HappyDiwali”

Here’s his tweet:

The Canadian PM was seen lighting a lamp in Ottawa in the tweet which was appreciated by some people who in return thanked the PM.
However, Justin got brutally trolled for one mistake that he made while giving his best wishes. He wrote ‘Diwali Mubarak’ and it didn’t go well with some of the Indians since they consider Mubarak as an Arabic word and not Hindi. There were many who demanded Justin to rectify the error and use “Shubh Deepawali” instead.
Here are some of the selected tweets:
Don’t give your Arabic Diwali wishes:
Mr Trudeau. Please don't disrespect Hindus. We would love to celebrate our most sacred festival without your Arabic "Diwali Wishes".

Stop getting coaching from Pakistanis:
Eid Mubarak not Diwali Mubarak, wish only Happy Diwali, stop getting coaching from Pakistani about Hindu festivals.

Christmas Mubarak:
Justin .. are you a Muslim, It's Shubh Diwali. Do I now say Christmas Mubbarak to you ? Or what ?

Word to the wise:
Word to the wise : It's "Shubh-Deepavali", (Auspicious Deepavali), and NOT "Diwali Mubarak". "Mubarak" is Arabic, not Indian. @CanadainIndia

Islam Mubarak:
Islam Mubaraq to you, Mr. Trudeau!
We reject this brazen Islamisation of our festivals.

Adding insult to injury:
To add insult to injury, PM @JustinTrudeau wears a Mogul Sherwani to sully ‘Shubh Deepavali' with 'Diwali MUBARAK'.

You don’t even know how to wish properly:
Who says Diwali MUBARAK? SHUBH Diwali!
You cant even wish us properly and want our votes. pic.twitter.com/xGx7qOHxe0— 디프티 ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ(▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿) (@antistupidab) October 17, 2017
You ignorant little White man:
Justin you ignorant little white man… its not Diwali Mubarak! We are not Arabs. Its Dipawali ki Shubh Kamnaye
— Shankara (@Sshankara) October 17, 2017
It’s a blunder:
Diwali is a Hindu & not an Arabic festival. A leader of a country wishing people can't do such blunder .

However, there were few who didn’t find any issue in Justin’s tweet and slammed the trollers:
Apologies:
Apologies on behalf of all the #LowIQSanghis spewing venom on ur twitter for merely wishing us. #HappyDiwali to you too.
— Suryanarayan Ganesh (@gsurya) October 17, 2017
It’s all about wishing:
I am a HINDU & 'Diwali Mubarak' is perfectly right for me. It's all about wishing and not making petty issues out of it.

Get a life trollers:
There isnt anything muslim about Mubarak..Its a Urdu word and people say this on congratulating others…Get a life !!

Justin was dressed in Indian attire and was looking handsome as usual in black sherwani. He is not an Indian but likes to celebrate our festivals with the same enthusiasm and zeal as we do, so guys just chill and enjoy Diwali!
