‘Rustom’ has garnered good collections at the Box Office since the time it has been released. In the first 8 days itself, the Akshay Kumar flick has earned considerable profits. On the other hand, Hrithik’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’ is repenting on it’s decision to clash with ‘Rustom’. Since the day of its’ release, this movie has witnessed only ‘POOR’ collections.
Yesterday, we reported about the total of ‘Rustom’ being 90.90 crores and that of ‘Mohenjo Daro’ being 51.18 crores. Now, the 8th day collections are out; let us see what trade analyst Taran Adarsh has to say!
Rustom breaks one more record!
Yes, on the 8th day, ‘Rustom’ garnered 4.41 crores, bringing the total to 95.31 crores and with this, it is all set to enter the 100 crore club. But wait, it has broken one more record with this total. Yes, the Akshay Kumar starrer has been declared as the 4th highest profitable film of 2016. Confused? Let us explain…
The movie has recovered it’s total cost of production. Around 40 crores were spent on the movie, i.e. 26 crores for the production and 14 crores on advertising and print. Since Akshay is also among the producers of the movie, he would be sharing the profit. Now the total collection of the movie is 95.31 crores, which means 137 percent profit, which is super-amazing!

On the 8th day ‘Mohenjo Daro’ garnered just 2 crores bringing the total to 53.18 crores, which is way too low. The makers had spent 100 crores on the film and they managed to collect just 53 crores. It is a ‘BIG LOSS’ for them.
