B. S. Yeddyurappa has submitted his resignation to the governor and now it is clear that Congress-JDS will be forming the government and H. D. Kumaraswamy will be the new chief minister of the Karnataka state.
Kumaraswamy will be taking oath of CM on May 21 and proving majority in the house won’t be difficult for him as he already has the required numbers. After the governor called BJP to form government, Congress-JDS went to the court and as per the court’s order, BJP needed to prove majority on 19th May (today) in the house.
As we all know, Twitter has opinion on each and every matter, the latest development in Karnataka has given enough fodder to Twitterati to make jokes and memes.
BJP is getting trolled by netizens as it was not able to prove majority in the house today. People were asking as to what was the need of making claim to form the government when it didn’t have the sufficient numbers.
Here are some selected tweets:
Don’t be overconfident:
Well played Cong + JDS. It’s literally haari baazi ko jeetna, hamhe aata hai today. BJP go back and reflect. Overconfidence never served anybody. #karnatakafloortest.

BJP’s illegal power grab exposed. Sham of vote of confidence ends shamefully because they never had the votes. And their Operation Lotus horse trading also flopped. #KarnatakaFloorTest

Do you also think that it was BJP’s over-confidence that it started the celebrations even before proving majority in the house? Let us know.
