We often hear rash driving about cases; this not only leads to the driver falling into trouble but also harms other commuters. Harmeet Singh (2014), the former U-19 IPL player who was in the Mumbai team for Ranji cricket has been arrested for the same reason.
Yes, Mumbai Police has detained him for ramming his luxury car onto Mumbai’s Andheri railway station at around 7.15 am today. Andheri’s platform no.1 was crowded with passengers when the vehicle rushed in full speed.
All of them present there were completely panicked and looked for ways to escape from there. Somehow, Harmeet managed to control the vehicle and stop it near the tracks; this was indeed a DANGEROUS EXPERIENCE for all.
As of now, Harmeet is in police custody and an investigation will be conducted to check if he was drunk or drugged. Luckily, everyone is safe and no casualties are reported.
A police official stated that
“He is from Punjab. He lives in Malad. He seems new to Mumbai. As of now it looks like he did it by mistake. We see no other reason behind it. He has been arrested.”
This is not the first time that Harmeet is surrounded by troubles; earlier in 2013 (When he played for Rajasthan Royals), he was accused of involvement in match fixing scandal but later, he came out clear.
